Full Time:  Development Officer

The Development Officer works closely with the Executive Director, RLT staff, and committee members to fulfill the mission, vision, and values of Reno Little Theater and to serve RLT audiences and volunteers. The Development Officer will be responsible for tasks including, but not limited to: 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Create, submit, manage, evaluate, and report on annual development plans to reach contributed income goals.

  • Direct a comprehensive grants program to research, submit, monitor, and report on all foundation, corporate, and government grants.

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors. 

  • Encourage a culture of philanthropy and increase the visibility of the artistic process to the donor community. 

  • Secure individual donations through direct mail, individual solicitations, and digital fundraising

  • Represent RLT with external constituency groups such as funders, program partners, elected officials, and community members 

  • Establish and deepen relationships with individual donors and foundation trustees 

  • Oversee corporate giving and sponsorship program 

  • Process donations and create donor receipts

  • Prepare monthly donation reports

  • Plan, implement, oversee all fundraising and donor events.

  • Plan and manage capital campaigns 

  • Manage donor records in database

  • Serve on Budget and Finance Committee

 

ESSENTIAL TRAINING/SPECIAL SKILLS:

  • Donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship

  • Grant Writing & Budgeting

  • Grant Management 

  • Nonprofit financial analysis and budgeting
     

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: 

Must generally exhibit a positive attitude and a high-degree of personal initiative. The ideal candidate is a great communicator, possesses strong people relation skills and can be discreet with privileged and sensitive organizational information. 

 

An interest and appreciation of the arts is strongly recommended along with a desire to work in a growing community-centered nonprofit environment. Previous experience with fundraising, development, and grant writing for a non-profit arts organization is preferred.

 

Must have strong organization and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks each day, perform with great attention to detail and with a high degree of professionalism. Basic math and clerical skills are required with a demonstrated experience of good understanding of internal administrative environments and operations.

 

Familiar and comfortable with a variety of computer environments, including spreadsheets, database and word processing applications. Effective database management skills are essential, coupled with strong typing, writing and grammatical skills in formulating correspondence for the management team.

 

Knowledgeable use of office computer systems, general software packages and related activities.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Salary Range: $41,000-$48,000

Part Time: Audience Services Coordinator

Position Summary:  The Audience Services Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director, RLT staff, and committee members to fulfill the mission, vision, and values of Reno Little Theater and to serve RLT audiences and volunteers. The Audience Services Coordinator will assist the staff with tasks including, but not limited to: 

 

AUDIENCE SERVICES: 

  • Answer main phone line & return customer calls

  • Processing ticket requests

  • Answer info email address & forward as appropriate

  • Work as Box Office Lead/FOH Manager for shows

  • Enforce ticketing policies

  • Prepare & distribute ticketing & show reports

  • Assist with patron engagement experiences

  • Manage concessions inventory communicating purchasing needs

 

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Maintain records in Theater Manager 

 

VOLUNTEERS

  • Schedule Front of House volunteers ensuring coverage of Box Office, Concessions, and Showroom

 

OTHER

  • Other appropriate duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desire to serve community members and build relationships through positive and memorable interactions.  

  • 2+ years customer service 

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems or complex CRM databases.

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of volunteers

  • Love of theater is a plus! 

 

SALARY & BENEFITS

Pay Rate: $15/hr 

Typical schedule: Wednesday- Saturday 5pm-10pm (20hrs per week)

This position is not eligible for health benefits. 

​

Paid Time Off accrued at 4hrs per month.
