RLT Covid-19 Safety Protocols
PHASE 1
Phase 1 of our Reopening Plan brings artists, students, and partner organizations back into our space. No more than 20 people should be on-site at RLT at any point during this phase. Phase 1 does not include public audiences.

General

  • We will prepare the space with appropriate signage and markers before any event takes place in the space.
  • All cast and crew members will complete a Covid-19 screening before entering the building, including a temperature check.
  • Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 F or higher will not be admitted.
  • RLT will maintain a supply of extra masks, disinfectant wipes, and hand sanitizer.
  • Management of scheduling will be done on the RLT Spaces Google Calendar. No event will take place without approval from the Executive Director.
  • These plans will be regularly reviewed and updated by the Executive Director and RLT Board.

Partner Events

All partner events must abide by RLT Covid-19 safety protocols, but will also be required to submit a copy of their written own Covid-19 Safety Protocols and event plans for approval on a case-by-case basis. This information should include information on the number of people working on a project (and in what capacity), the spaces that will be required for the project, and their own company safety protocols.

  • No public audience members will be admitted to indoor partner events during Phase 1.
  • A walk-through with the project lead will be required prior to full groups coming into the space.
  • An RLT staff member will be onsite for all partner events to ensure that Covid-19 safety protocols are being enforced.
  • Masks will be required for all partner artists/crews at all times.
  • A social distance of at least 6 feet must be maintained at all times.
  • Masks must be worn during performances unless performers are able to maintain 12′ of social distance from each other and the crew (Example: a student is onstage performing a monologue to be filmed and the masked director and camera crew are more than 12′ away in the seats while the masked stage manager is in the booth).
  • Public audiences will not be allowed during this time.

Meetings

  • We continue to encourage the use of virtual meetings when possible.
  • All meetings will have an option for people to attend virtually.
  • Designated seating requirements will be pre-determined by the meeting chairperson in advance.
  • A social distance of at least 6 feet will be maintained at all times.
  • Masks will be required in the building at all times.

RLT Rehearsals

  • Phase 1 productions will be limited to a cast of no more than 6 actors.
  • A social distance of 6 feet will be maintained at all times- onstage and off.
  • Performers will remain masked at all times while in the building – onstage and off.
  • Directors and stage crew will remain masked at all times while in the building.
  • Each rehearsal will be given an allotted time and only performers in that scene will be in the theater. Designated waiting areas (either outside or in the lobby) will be clearly indicated.
  • Performers will wait outside the theater until they are given permission to enter during their allotted rehearsal time.
  • Performers will be asked to sanitize/wash their hands when they arrive. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
  • Props and/or set pieces will be sanitized after every rehearsal.

RLT Performances

  • A social distance of 6 feet will be maintained at all times- onstage and off.
  • Masks must be worn during performances unless performers are able to maintain 12′ of social distance from each other and the crew (Example: a student is onstage performing a monologue to be filmed and the masked director and camera crew are more than 12′ away in the seats while the masked stage manager is in the booth).
  • Directors and stage crew will remain masked at all times while in the building.
  • Props and/or set pieces will be sanitized after every performance.
  • At this time no public audiences will be admitted to the venue.

Filming

The TL Solutions crew will consist of no more than three people and commits to the following protocols while filming in the RLT main theater space during the COVID-19 restriction period:

  • Crew members will remain masked at all times while in the building.
  • Crew members will maintain a 6-foot distance from all performers at all times.
  • Crew members will leave the main building during breaks.
  • All equipment (microphones, etc.) will be sanitized between uses and will only be handled by the TL Solutions crew and the performer.
  • Crew members will wear gloves whenever assisting performers with attaching microphones to their costumes.
  • Boom mics will be used for filming groups of more than two performers.
  • Performers will remain masked and at a social distance of 6 feet. Masks may only be removed during filming if a social distance of 12 feet between actors and the crew is maintained at all times. Once filming completes, the performers will be asked to put their masks back on.

Camps & Classes

  • Phase 1 Camps & Classes will be limited to 10 students.
  • Students will remain masked at all times.
  • Students will maintain a social distance of 6 feet at all times. Designated zones will be identified in the classroom, theater, and hallway to assist students with maintaining safe distances.
  • Parents will not be allowed to enter the space.
  • If a child exhibits symptoms (fever, dry cough, difficulty breathing) they will be separated from the group until they are able to be picked up by a parent or listed emergency contact.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at all times.
  • Bathrooms will be cleaned between use.
  • Students will have a designated cubby & supplies for the duration of any project.
  • There will be no shared equipment.


Additional Education Program Rules


Pick up & drop off

  • Items children are allowed to bring into the building will be limited. Allowable items include reusable water bottles (suggested), coats, and lunches. All items must be clean and, if possible, will be wiped down with sanitizing wipes upon arrival to camp. Personal items must be labeled with the student’s name. Backpacks are not allowed.
  • Children should wear fresh/clean clothing each day. Coats/clothing should be washed daily.
  • No parents will be permitted in the building.
  • Staff will be available to walk children into the building and return them to their parents’ cars at the designated pickup and drop-off times.
  • Parents or persons designated to pick up will need to be on the Approved Pick-Up list and present an ID in order for their child to be released to them.
  • Parents will be asked to provide an extended list of emergency contacts that are able to pick the child up in case of any emergency.
  • Parents will be asked to notify staff if any children participating in the program have symptoms or have potentially been exposed and will be asked to sign a document declaring their health status.

Physical Distance

In the classroom:

  • Classroom rules will be posted.
  • Students will remain masked at all times.
  • Students will remain at a social distance of at least 6 feet at all times.
  • Students will sanitize their hands before entering the classroom or theater space.
  • Posted classroom rules will indicate that students should cough or sneeze into their upper arm.
  • Cubbies will be provided & each child should use their assigned cubby for the entirety of their program.
  • Each child will have their own supplies (ie. crayons, markers, scissors) for the duration of the camp/class. There will be no shared equipment, costumes, props, or supplies.

Water policy:

  • Students will be asked to bring a refillable water bottle.
  • Staff will help fill up water bottle/cups with water dispenser in the classroom.

In the restroom:

  • One student in the bathroom at a time.
  • Staff members will sanitize the bathroom between use.

Mealtime:

  • Students will be asked to wash hands before and after mealtimes.
  • Tables will be sanitized before and after meals
  • Trash will be thrown away immediately following meals.

When in transition line:

  • Students will be required to maintain an arm’s length distance & five-second pace behind or in front of each other.
