Hello, friends! Another socially distant update coming your way! While we have no news to share regarding the reopening of the theater, we’re still hard at work behind the scenes. I’d like to thank RLT’s staff and Board of Directors for their unwavering dedication to protecting this organization and its team members throughout this crisis. We were so lucky to receive funding through the Payroll Protection Plan which guarantees our staff’s salaries and benefits will remain
With the announcement of RLT’s upcoming “May Day 24 Hour VIRTUAL Play Festival,” I thought it would be appropriate to discuss my favorite podcasts about writing. The festival will ask a handful of writers to write a play overnight on May 2nd that will then be produced as virtual productions the following evening on May 3rd. The actors and directors will receive scripts around 7:00 AM on May 3rd and have until 6:00 PM to
After weeks of rehearsal, it’s time to open! Once the first technical rehearsal begins, the control of the show has now shifted from the Director to the Stage Manager.  The SM now works with Assistant Stage Manager (ASM), Crew, Front of House (FOH) and Staff to open the show each night. If you’ve ever used a CAD program like AutoCAD it can be really daunting if you’re just starting out. SketchUp has a really lovely interface and
Hi everyone, I hope this post finds you healthy, happy, and home. We’ve got no new updates on production timelines- as we’re still waiting on updates about what the first phase of reopening businesses looks like- but we’ll share decisions as soon as we are able to come to them. I did, however, want to update and let you know that we had a fabulous Bingo Fundraiser on Saturday and were able to raise almost $1500 for RLT,
These days, who couldn’t use a laugh? I scoured the internet to find 30 of the funniest memes about theater life because we could all use a little break from the doom and gloom. Put on your rose-tinted glasses and read on for a quick giggle at the life of a theater kid through memes. 1.) When God Created Me Just a little bit… 2.) CATS Already 1000% better than the CATS movie. 3.) Let’s
